Crash Cart Mandates by AAAASF

If you are preparing your surgery center for accreditation or certification with AAAASF or if you are up for re-accreditation or re-certification; AAAASF mandates the following medications are to be stored in your crash-cart. If they are not present in the crash cart you will be cited with a deficiency. Below are the following medications that need to be identified during your AAAASF inspection:
Epinephrine
Lidocaine
Atropine
Oral nitroglycerine
Vasopressors, other than epinephrine (e.g. Ephedrine)
Narcotic antagonist (e.g. Narcan®)
Seizure arresting medication (a benzodiazepine, e.g. Midazolam)
Bronchospasm arresting medication (inhaled beta agonist, e.g. Albuterol)
Intravenous corticosteroids (e.g. Dexamethasone)
IV Antihistamines (e.g. Diphenhydramine)
Short-acting beta-blocker (e.g. Esmolol or Labetalol)
Neuromuscular blocking agents including non-depolarizing agents such as rocuronium or depolarizing agents such as succinylcholine
Benzodiazephine reversing agent (e.g. Mazicon®, Flumazenil®)
Minimum of four (4) 50cc of NaHCO3 (sodium bicarbonate
1000cc (IV bag) of preservative free H2O diluents for Dantrolen
