AAAHC (The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) announces an accreditation program that is tailored to the specific needs of practices that offer office based surgery and that is priced to be cost effective for smaller practices. Office based surgery center is defined as a center in which has no more than four (4) physicians and no more than two (2) operating/procedure rooms.
A reduction in accreditation fees has been made to reflect the smaller size of the office based surgery center compared to the ambulatory surgery center. The total cost of $3,500.00 includes a $775.00 application fee and a $2725.00 fee for the onsite survey.
My last Medicare deem status survey with AAAHC for an ambulatory surgery center with 2 operating/procedure rooms total cost for survey on May 10th and 11th 2012 was $12,290.00. Just some figures you should allocate in your budget.
