I just wanted to update all of you with the length of time for the “Initial” Medicare supplier enrollment application process. In November 2011 I had 3 clients in which I was applying for “Initial” enrollment simultaneously in the Southern California region. Applications were mailed no later than the end of the month. Below is the data I received as far as the correspondence letter regarding the preliminary assessment to move forward with the next step which involves an on-site survey:
Center A-February 12, 2012
Center B- February 15, 2012
Center C-March 20, 2012
So as I see it just be patient with the process. My stats show me that it can take from 2 ½ to 3 months to process information submitted. I hope you find this useful if you are preparing a time line.
I just mailed a new application for “Initial” enrollment for a new client in Orange County. I will keep you posted to see if the frequency is consistent with my preliminary assessment data. Perhaps I can use this information for my own personal benchmarking study.
Here’s to your success,
NB
